During my time in school I participated in three service learning opportunities banking over 120 hours of experience.  I also completed over 120 hours of internship Spring 2015 and over 240 hours of internship in Fall 2015.  Each organization I worked with has provided me with a unique learning experience.

INTERNSHIP

Ecuadent Foundation

In Fall 2015 I completed my 240 hour internship with Ecuadent Foundation. Ecuadent works to provide free medical and dental care to impoverished childrenin  Ecuador.  I worked on fundraising, grant research and writing, mission planning, and social media.  I will be accompanying the foundation on their Dental Mission to Salinas Ecuador in February 2016.

Immigration Intern,
International Rescue Committee

In Spring 2015 I completed my 120 hour internship with the International Rescue Committee (IRC).  The IRC works to respond to the worst crises and provide opportunities to rebuild lives.  I worked as the Immigration Intern in the Baltimore office doing immigration paperwork, advocacy, helping refugee's with daily services and needs.

SERVICE LEARNING

Victorious Attitudes for Everyday Life Inc.

Victorious Attidues for Everyday Life Inc. is a small nonprofit working to educate, empower and enrich the children in Baltimore through workshops. I was able to work with a group to research and compose a situational analysis, a $500,000 fund development plan and a $120,000 grant proposal to help grow and expand the nonprofit.

Community Mediation

Community Mediation provides free and voluntary mediation to residents in Baltimore with the hopes of reducing violence and crime in the city.  With my group we had the opportunity to reach out through email, phone calls, and hand written letters to companies in the hopes of obtaining corporate sponsors for their annual volunteer appreciation event.

Bea Gaddy Family Center

Bea Gaddy Family Center provides needy families in the Baltimore area with food and assistance. Within a group of five, we developed a social media plan for the organization to grow and expand its use of sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and GoFundMe.
